Just The Tip Cigars ("JTTC," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website located at www.justthetipcigars.com, together with any related, staging, preview, or successor domain we use to operate the site, including dptgw.club while the site is in development. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit or use the site, what we do with it, who we share it with, and how to reach us if you have questions or want to exercise your rights.

Information you give us directly

• Contact form submissions. Your name, email address, an optional phone number, the subject you select, and your message.
• Email list signups. Your email address and, where available, related signup records such as signup date and signup source. If we send marketing emails in the future, we may also maintain unsubscribe or email-preference records. We do not add you to the marketing email list just because you submit a contact form or create an account — you must separately opt in.
• Account creation (Aficionado's Corner). Your name, email, and a password handled by our authentication provider, Supabase. We do not see or store your plain-text password. You may optionally add a preferred name, profile photo (avatar), and other profile details.
• Cigar journal & humidor entries. Cigars and pipes you log, your ratings, tasting notes, and optionally photos of cigar bands or your pipes that you upload.

Information collected automatically

• Server logs and basic analytics (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referrer, approximate location) gathered by our hosting platform (Vercel) for security, performance, and traffic measurement.
• Authentication and session cookies required to keep you signed in to Aficionado's Corner.
• Age-verification flag stored locally in your browser's session storage so the age gate doesn't reappear during your visit.

Information from our in-store systems

If you use Aficionado's Corner, we may match your account to our Lightspeed Retail X-Series customer records using your email address or phone number. When matched, we may display your in-store purchase history, including cigars, pipes, and other products purchased, so you can view your account history and related product activity.

• To reply to questions you send through the contact form.
• To send the occasional lounge update if you joined our email list. You can unsubscribe from every email.
• To operate your Aficionado's Corner account — storing your humidor, ashtray, pipe collection, wishlist, and purchase history.
• To display upcoming events.
• To keep the site secure, debug problems, and measure performance.
• To comply with our legal obligations as a tobacco retailer (including age verification).

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers.

Unless the site clearly states otherwise, your account information, cigar journal, humidor, ashtray, pipe collection, wishlist, purchase history, ratings, tasting notes, and uploaded photos are intended to be private to your account and JTTC's authorized administrators.

If we add public profile, community, review, comment, or social features in the future, we will explain what information may be visible to others before you use those features.

These vendors process information for us or help provide parts of the website. Their handling of information is also subject to their own privacy and security practices.

• Supabase — database hosting, authentication, and storage of any photos you upload.
• Vercel — web hosting and the optimization layer that serves the site.
• Lightspeed Retail (X-Series) — our in-store point-of-sale and product catalog source. We read product data from Lightspeed to show what's in stock.
• Upstash — caching layer used to improve site performance. Upstash may temporarily cache product data and limited customer-matching data, such as email or phone-based Lightspeed customer lookup information, for short periods so account history can load efficiently.
• Google Maps — the embedded map on our footer is served by Google and is subject to Google's privacy practices.

We may also disclose information when required by law, by court order, or to protect our rights, our customers, or the public.

We use small data files stored by your browser for essential functions only: keeping you signed in, remembering that you passed the age gate during your session, and basic security. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear these at any time using your browser settings; signing out of your account clears your session.

You can:

• Ask us what information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or update it.
• Ask us to delete your account and the data tied to it. (Some records, such as transaction history required for tax and tobacco-compliance recordkeeping, may need to be retained.)
• Unsubscribe from email at any time using the link in any message.

To exercise any of these, email justthetipcigars@gmail.com from the email address tied to your account.

We keep account information for as long as your account remains active or as reasonably needed to operate the site, respond to requests, maintain business records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce our policies.

We may retain certain records, including transaction history, tax records, accounting records, inventory records, and tobacco-compliance records, even after an account deletion request, where retention is legally required or reasonably necessary for business purposes.

This site is intended only for adults age 21 and older. The age gate helps limit access to age-restricted content, but it does not guarantee that a visitor is legally eligible to purchase tobacco products. We may require additional age verification before completing any tobacco-related transaction. Tobacco products may not be sold to anyone under 21. We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or reverse any transaction if we cannot verify eligibility or if a sale would violate applicable law. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you believe someone under 21 has provided us with information, contact us and we will review and delete the information where appropriate.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including HTTPS, one-way password hashing handled by Supabase (we never see or store your plain-text password), and role-based access controls on internal admin tools. No website, database, or internet transmission is perfectly secure. If we learn of a security incident involving personal information, we will investigate and provide notice where required by applicable law.

If we materially change how we handle your information, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or with a banner on the site.
